Although in fact a Redhill Pub, elder patrons of the 'Brickmakers'
recall that the boundary between Merstham and Redhill 
falls between the pub and the gent's outside toilet and when answering the 
'call of nature' could often be heard to say 'I'm just off to Merstham'
